Have you ever received a job offer AND been made redundant in the same day? No? Neither have I... Until yesterday (or for those of you reading this in the near future.. Wednesday 7th February š) I don't know how to explain this feeling but the word 'GRATITUDE' comes to mind. God and The Universe were working together to make this happen for me. You all know that I wanted to leave my current job but what some of you don't know is how much I wanted to get into the type of industry that I have finally gotten into, and I can't be any more happier!!!
Hahaha... I laugh as I type this because you'll probably speak to me on the phone, might even see me face to face and probably won't think that I'm not this happy but happiness comes from within hahaha! Nah for real... I am overjoyed!
I was looking for a role that would allow me to really use my IT skills, learn a whole bunch of new ones and be able to progress forward but I needed to be in the right environment and company in order to do so. I've had a taste of it when I was contracting so I have a fair idea of what to expect because this company is pretty much like the last one I worked for when I was contracting.
The gratitude I feel now is so immense because when you've wanted something for so long and you achieve it, it takes a day or two to really process what has happened, that could be why my happiness is delayed - lol! Sometimes we have to go through all the applications, the rejections and the no responses! There is a reason for them... Has someone ever said to you? "This one is not for you" or "It wasn't meant for you!" I've heard it loads of times during my job searching and at the time you probably won't believe those words, especially as you can't see anything apart from the negativity but what that also means is that you have to keep going, don't give up! It will be hard... it will feel disheartening and you'll feel like you're never going to get anywhere but you have to keep going because the job is there for you, waiting for you to find it! I am living proof of that.
I plan to stick with this job, as it's everything I've been looking for.. I see no reason to move on... Fun fact about me, I've never been in a job for longer than 2 years. The majority of my jobs have been contract work so moving around is expected but yeah... 2 years is the longest I've had a job for... Watch now though, I'm trying to smash that record - LOL!! So yeah people... Things are looking up, the future is bright, the future is Gee!! haha! š Who knows... I might end up bringing back train chronicles š Thank you God! Till next time...
